There's lots of design rules out there that say we should be more minimal, more classic, more utilitarian. But we don't care about rules. We only believe in making what we like. Today it’s 60’s peace and love. Tomorrow it could be galaxies or creatures with wings. We don’t always know what will inspire us. But when it does, we’ll make it known. Some might call this a punk mentality. We just call it our creative process.

Unique materials make us happy. We don’t set out to simply find the highest quality leather. We look for special finishes, incredible colors and interesting articulations. Then we play with it. We’ll hand treat the leather to wrinkle it just right. We’ll spray it with bleach just to see what happens. Or we’ll roll up our sleeves and leather-braid our brains out. The point is, if we’re not mixing things up and getting our hands dirty, we know we’re not doing it right.

Our bags are equally as comfortable with jeans and a t-shirt as they are with high heels and sequins. Because wearability and flexibility are design priorities. It’s a well-placed phone pocket, a reversible two-tone tote, and a backpack with a detachable, going-out clutch. So where’s the limit-pushing enlightenment in all of this? We find it in collaborations with other inspired artists. You can find it in the twists of a silver sub-rosa serpent and the hand-carved edges of our faceted bronze end-caps.

We make only a few pieces at a time, and we keep our manufacturing stateside. Often the materials we love the most aren’t available in large amounts. Or certain hand-made elements lose quality when mass-produced. But that’s what makes them all the more special. We might only make five of these and twelve of those, and once they’re gone they’re gone. Chances are if you see one of our bags out and about, it’s probably no longer available. But that’s what pushes us to one-up ourselves with new ideas for the next batch. And the beginning of a new collection.
